All of John’s guitars have the full OBEL (on board effects loop) with bypass switch.

For amp and stage monitoring John uses a Roland GR-55 or Boss GT-001 COSM amp modeler with proprietary, custom settings and an HHB Classic 80 studio tube preamp. To hear all of this, he uses a Meyer UM-1P, QSC K8/10, and/or V-MODA Crossfade M-100 over-ear headphones

John’s effects (in order of signal path) consist of an Electro-Harmonix Micro-synth reissue, a Mu-Fx Micro-Tron III envelope filter, Moog Minfooger MF Ring – Ring Modulator, Boss Blues Driver BD-2, Maxon OD-808, vintage MXR Phase 100, and an Eventide H9 multi-effects pedal. John plays with the Telefunken graphite 2mm or Dunlop Delrin 500 2mm picks.
