Marcus plays a real deal Paul Languedoc (like Trey Ansatasio) G2 maple/bubinga and also plays a Mike Lipe USA Soldato spalted maple/spalted alder guitar. His pickups in the “Doc” are Paul Languedoc specified, custom Seymour Duncan humbuckers. The Lipe guitar uses custom pickups made by Jerry Amalfitano.
Marcus traditionally played with no guitar pick, but now he’s migrated to the Pickboy Jazz picks. He prefers a 10-46 string gauge custom made by Chris Campbell which are pure nickel wound.
Marcus likes to run in stereo, and his effect pedals vary and change quite often, too many to nail down for this rig rundown. He currently uses a pair of Quilter Tone Block 200’s as his two amplifiers for stereo. His speaker choices include the JBL D130 but sometimes the Celestion Greenback or Vintage 30 is the right sound for him depending on the amp(s) du jour.
Marcus’ rig is actually pretty complex and varied and depending on the situation will involve choosing from a wide range of boutique tube amps and various effects pedals.
